Overview of our manifesto for local elections 2020
Dear Munich,
Munich is a liveable city. Its parks and green spaces, the mountains close by, the many cultural attractions and its urban diversity all contribute to Munich’s appeal. But at the same time, the city is facing big challenges.
We need courage to face the future. Courage for Future—Zukunft braucht Mut—is the title of our election manifesto. If our city is to stay liveable, we need both new ideas and the courage to put them into practice.
In the following pages you can read our solutions to the most pressing issues for our city. Protecting our climate and environment are the heart of all of our thinking: we need to ensure our city and our planet remain habitable. We also want to rethink and revamp transport in Munich. Decent housing is a basic right for all of us in Munich: we will prioritise the creation of new, affordable housing without losing sight of the sustainable development of our green spaces and parks. And finally, in the Green Party we are passionately in favour of our open and tolerant urban society and will defend our wonderful city against attacks from rightwing groups.
Munich has good reasons to be optimistic going into the future. We want to be proactive in seizing the many opportunities that our city has to offer. That’s why we are asking you to use both your votes on 15th March to vote Green.
